A Little Background about the Whisky Sour
.
The Whiskey Sour dates back to the time, when the British Royal Navy guzzled these in the 17th and 18th centuries, usually with some rum and lime, to prevent scurvy, whilst they watched the Caribbean. Very soon the drink was given the title of a bona fide cocktail. Circa 1862, Jerry Thomas, the father of American cocktail-making, concocted the Brandy Sour and Gin Sour. Soon thereafter, the American Whiskey Sour was given a mass-market appeal by the American drinkers.
