Scotland – Islay & Islands – 46% – This 11-year-old Lagavulin is finished for 8 months in Caribbean Rum casks resulting in a symphony of sweet smoke that pairs the delectable sweet notes of the tropics with the smoldering peaty smoke of the irresistible elixir of Islay.
Lagavulin is said to be one of the oldest distilleries on Islay and is world-renowned for its smoky, peaty whiskies. The windswept Isle of Islay instils a strength of character into everything it produces and it’s there, nestled in a small bay, that the beloved Lagavulin whisky has been made for over 200 years.
