A sunny decade is represented by the 2009 vintage of Dom Perignon Rose. However, the year stands out in the middle of this time frame. Gray and cloudy spring and summer conditions resulted in a lack of both light and warmth. And then, as in 2000 or 2006, and the legendary 1996 vintage, the sun and winds of September came around and totally turned things around. The grapes’ long-awaited maturity finally showed, flourishing with an unheard-of high-toned balance.
Raspberries and wild strawberries abound in the bouquet. The fruit scents quickly blend with lingering violet and iris powdery overtones. Greener undertones that evoke privet, angelica, and camphor trees emerge after breathing.
As the flavors develop, they start out tactile, rich, and smooth before getting progressively stronger.
