FROM THE LAND OF THE GREAT HIMALAYAS
The scent and flavor of this single malt are unusual and lively. Even at full cask strength, the combination of raisins, vanilla, cherry liqueur, and spices is incredibly smooth on the mouth.
Amrut Portonova is completed in ex-bourbon and new American oak barrels before being moved to first-fill Portuguese Port pipes.
ABV: 62.1%
Nose: The flavors of caramelized apple pie combine with a rich pudding of fruit and caramel.
Taste: It’s evident that this is really a port pipe sandwich. Caramel is entwined with spicy fruit as the palate is reached by an oaky, salty flavor.
Finish: A protracted, powerful oak finish that shows hints of the emergence of virgin barrels. As you explore, a chocolate color emerges, and eventually some muscovado sugars replace the berries.
